This box culvert installation in a creek where the road was previously a dead-end involved placing a precast structure along a creek in a remote, limited-access area so that the public can safely gain access into this unique part of TEXAS. Utilizing a Grove GMK5225, a 225-ton all-terrain crane, the team was able to balance reach and maneuverability in a setting where space and access were limited.
Working in this type of environment adds complexity, from equipment positioning to managing ground conditions and access to the site. Each step of the lift was approached methodically to ensure the piece was guided into place safely and as planned.
